Privacy and cookies
What this site records, what advertising cookies do, and how to control them.
This page needs completing before the site goes live. The structure below covers what a UK advertising-funded site is required to disclose; the specifics must be filled in with your actual arrangements.
This is a working outline, not a finished policy. Complete the marked sections, add your contact details and business identity, and confirm your consent management platform is live. A site running Google advertising to UK and EEA visitors needs valid consent in place before ads are served, and AdSense will not approve a site without a genuine privacy policy.
Who we are
Add the name and contact address of whoever operates this site, and whether you are registered with the ICO.
What we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, addresses or payment details. Standard web server logs record the pages requested, along with technical information such as browser type and approximate location, for security and to understand which pages are read.
Advertising cookies
This site carries advertising served by Google. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at google.com/settings/ads, and from many other providers at youronlinechoices.com. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of any website may then behave differently.
Add: the name of your consent management platform, how a reader changes their choices after the first visit, and any analytics you run.
Analytics
State what analytics you use, what it records, and how long data is kept.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to certain processing. Requests go to the contact address above. If you are unhappy with the response you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
External links
We link to brand terms, regulators and research. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for them.
